Years ago, while working at MJK Performance, we faced the challenge of managing and sharing numerous files across different systems, including configurations for our CNC machines. To address this, we sought a local storage solution that could seamlessly communicate between all our computers. Despite only having background in building gaming computers, this new challenge of creating a NAS server sparked my interest in the broader possibilities of computer and network systems. Successfully completing the NAS project at MJK Performance fueled my interested and growing passion, leading me to build my first home lab server using parts from my old gaming PCs. As I gained more knowledge about NAS systems, I delved into the network side, realizing that my future lay in IT. This realization prompted me to enroll in school to further my education in this growing technology filled world.
